Find latitude and longitude of address with GeoCoder
Object
Locate map coordinates from street address and add
latitude/longitude coordinates to the records in your
database using your custom programs or Web site. Pass a
ZIP + 4®
code to this API and it returns the latitude & longitude
coordinates along with the census tract data and block boundary. Not only can you find coordinates of an
address, you can use the tract and block numbers to link
to Census Bureau demographic data.
Cascade GeoCoding
GeoCoder alone will add the latitude/longitude
coordinates to the ZIP + 4®, or
the 9-digit postal code of an address. The GeoPoints
add-on appends a more precise lat/long coordinate to the
11-digit (ZIP+4 + Delivery Point) level of the address
or parcel. If unavailable, GeoCoder will append the
coordinates based on (1) the ZIP+2 or (2) the 5-digit
ZIP®. It is recommended that prior
to geocoding, you verify addresses and append ZIP + 4
codes using the Address Object from Melissa Data.
Address object validates addresses to actual point of
delivery (DPV®), and also appends
the DP (delivery point) enabling the precise 11-digit
geocoding of the GeoPoints add-on.
Use
with programs written in a variety of languages:
Delphi, C, C+ +, Visual FoxPro, Oracle, Power Builder,
Visual Basic,
J Script, VB Script, and more.
Append ZIP + 4®,
latitude, longitude, census tract and block. Link addresses to related geographics, calculate distance between two points, and link to 2000 Census data
Add the latitude and longitude coordinates plus Census tract and block numbers to the records in your list.
Ensure the integrity of your database, catch customer data-input errors, and standardize data for faster processing.
Increase deliverables with DPV and verify addresses to actual point of
delivery.
