Lists Must Be Cleaned Before Mailing to New Orleans

At last! Mailers can now send Periodical and Standard Letter mail to the embargoed ZIP Codes in New Orleans. But there’s a slight catch.

The U.S. Postal Service recently gave the heads up to allow mailers to send pieces into the embargoed ZIP Codes in New Orleans. But acceptance of Periodical and Standard Letter mail is contingent on a registration process that includes the mailer cleansing the address list prior to the initial mailing.

For detailed information on the Mail Restoration Program, the Postal Service is asking mailers to contact the National Customer Support Center at 877-640-0724, and select option 1, Monday through Friday, between 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. CT.
