 What IT Skills Are Most in Demand?

Wanted – more IT professionals. According to a recent report, business growth is jump-starting a stronger demand for more IT professionals. But do you have the skills that are most in demand? This report reveals what skills you should have as an IT professional. See if you live up to the hype.

The report – developed by Robert Half Technology, an IT professional provider – states that chief information officers (CIOs) expect to see a modest jump in IT hiring in the third quarter of 2006. Another key finding of the report – customer support (23 percent) is one of the factors driving a third quarter IT hiring spurt, while business growth takes the cake as the number one reason driving IT hiring (44 percent). Other driving forces: regulatory compliance (3 percent), information security (4 percent), systems upgrade (12 percent) and ERP installation (13 percent).

* Database management 69%
* Wireless network management 57%
* Firewall administration 57%
