Firm Uses Address Updating Service
Gene Failla owns TN Publications – an Omaha,
Neb.-based publications firm that focuses on the
horseracing industry. To ensure its mailings get to
the right address – and the right people – Failla
enlisted the help of Melissa Data.
In the past, Failla mailed various brochures,
pamphlets and postcards on the horseracing industry
via First-Class Mail. He initially wanted to send
his materials via Standard Mail, but he knew that if
the address was wrong, it would immediately get
thrown away. So, Failla chose to go the First-Class
Mail route instead. Eventually, it got to be a
little costly for the privately-owned publications
firm.
“I couldn’t keep spending 40 cents per piece,”
Failla says.
So Failla turned to Melissa Data for its NCOALink™
service. NCOALink processing searches your database
for the individuals, families and businesses that
have moved and filed a change of address with the
U.S. Postal Service in the last 48 months.
Now Failla is able to send his publications both
First-Class Mail and Standard Mail, thus saving his
firm money. His company sends materials every day –
roughly 300,000 pieces a year across the country.
“Using NCOA has definitely helped,” Failla notes.
“It’s kept my mailing lists clean and up to date.”
