Getting Started with SQL Server's New Data Quality Services

In this presentation, we will discuss the key concepts behind Knowledge Driven Data Quality, implement a Data Quality Project, and show how to build and improve your Knowledge Base through Domain Management and Knowledge Discovery.

But what sets DQS apart is its ability to access Third Party Reference Data Sets through the Azure Marketplace. Access to shared knowledge empowers the business user to efficiently cleanse complicated and domain specific information, such as addresses. David Loshin Customer Centricity and Birds of a Feather
By David Loshin

Location is meaningful when it comes to analyzing customer behavior. The old adage "birds of a feather flock together" can be adapted to customer centricity.  Ask Our Experts
Q: Does Melissa Data's Web Services have maintenance downtimes? Admound Chou, Product Development Manager, Data Quality Solutions

A: No. Melissa Data understands the importance of having a reliable and constantly available service, and we strive for 100 percent uptime. In fact, in 2011, Melissa Data was recognized by website monitoring firm, Alertra, for achieving 100% uptime.

We maintain multiple server farms across the U.S. and in Europe. We use a load balancer to distribute the millions of requests we receive from our clients every day. The nature of our business requires us to consistently update the data on our servers. In order to do so without causing interruptions, we perform a rolling update process. First, we will take a server cluster off of our load balancer and drain it so that it stops receiving requests. Then, we will apply an update and test it. After that is done, we will put it back on the load balancer and allow it to start taking requests again. We repeat this process with each server farm until all of them are done.
