Reach Credit-Worthy Buyers with a New Homeowners List

To a direct marketer – new homeowners are a prime target. They’re financially stable, credit-worthy and eager to buy a slew of new products and services. Using a new homeowners list provides a great opportunity to reach this golden demographic.

A new homeowners list will give you the power to reach thousands of potential customers who are more likely to fork out some money and make purchases. New movers also are willing to try new and different things. To put it simply, if you were to mail something to a new homeowner, chances are you’ve already captured their attention.

New homeowners will spend eight to 10 times more than an established resident over the next two-year period, notes Bruce Dulberg, president and CEO of HomeData, a national compiler of data on new resident homeowners. HomeData is the largest weekly compiler of new homeowner lists. The firm retrieves its data from property deed transactions from county courthouses. HomeData updates its database and compiles about 90,000 to 100,000 new property deeds every week, says Dulberg.

David Bancroft Avrick, president of Avrick Direct Inc., is a firm believer in using new mover/new homeowner mailing lists. “There are both simplistic and deep-seated factors that drive responsiveness of new move mailing lists. There are millions of names available on a 30-day hotline basis. If you have not tested change of address/new move names you are possibly missing out on a great opportunity,” states Avrick in his article, “Why New Move Mailing Lists Work.”

Who are the biggest users of new homebuyer lists? Credit card issuers, insurance companies, publishing firms, domestic catalogers, retailers and banks. Marketers can select or customize the list criteria that will help hone in their search.

Among the selections that mailers can choose for precision marketing include the new homeowner’s name and address, gender, mortgage amount, property type, home purchase price, lender name, mortgage type and length of residence. Marketers also can choose to a specific area to saturate by ZIP Code, city, county, state or radius.
