Uses Homeowner Mailing Lists
The Homesteader is a must-have guide for new
homeowners, providing them with information and
services to help them settle into their new
environment. It’s no surprise that The Homesteader
would tap Melissa Data’s List Services division for
a New Homeowners mailing list. Here’s how the
company uses the list.
Melissa Data’s New Homeowners Lists enables mailers
to reach potential new customers immediately after
they purchased a home. More than 75,000 names are
added each week to the new homeowners file. Records
are compiled from property transfers and deed
recordings. A basic list may include name and
address, purchase price of the home, dwelling type,
lender name, home equity, mortgage amount and type.
Selects include ZIP Code™, city or state, county and
radius.
Barbara Poplin, owner and publisher of The
Homesteader in Lake County, Fla., is a long-time
user of Melissa Data’s New Homeowners Lists. Poplin
mails a variety of marketing materials such as The
Homesteader publication, other newspapers and
postcards on a monthly basis to new homeowners in an
effort to advertise all of Lake County’s businesses
and retail.
“I find it very helpful in targeting and reaching
new homeowners in the Lake County area,” Poplin
says.
The Homesteader got its start in Massachusetts, but
the publication and its affiliate papers are also
published in Arizona, California, Colorado,
Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana,
Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North
Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Utah.
