A new marketing study by 451 Research claims marketing pros exaggerate the amount of digital marketing they engage in. The study reports that 59% of respondents said their companies don't use digital marketing technology, such as social media and mobile marketing, and have no plans to start within the next six months. According to 451 Research's Matt Mullen “The hype and holler around digital marketing is not reflected in the marketplace." Direct Marketing News' Senior Editor, Al Urbanski, expressed skepticism about the report, pointing out that Chief Marketing Officers were not surveyed.
