New Move Update
Web Seminar
Hosted by the Direct Marketing
Association
You know that on November 23, the Move Update
standards expand from First-Class Mail® automation
and presort-price mailings to include all Standard
Mail mailings. And you’ve probably heard that to
meet the new requirements, mailers must use
addresses that were updated within the previous 95
days. But what about the things you’ve heard that
are not true? There are many common Move Update
misconceptions, and we’re going to reveal fact from
fiction, right here, right now.
Common Move Update Misconceptions
1.)
CASS™/ DPV® meet the Move Update requirement.
NOT TRUE.
NCOALink® processing is an approved method that
provides electronic Change-of-Address information prior to mailing.
2.) Mail will get delivered to the old address
instead of becoming UAA mail. NOT TRUE.
Separate COA notification with new address or reason
for non-delivery provided. Mailpiece is disposed of
as waste. On First-Class Mail®, only available when
used in conjunction with ACS™.
3.) Implementing Move Update will eliminate your
returned mail.
NOT TRUE.

are in compliance. NOT NECESSARILY.

notifications. Must print ancillary service
endorsement for Standard Mail® – recommended for
