  MAILERS+4® Advisory

USPS® Rate Change Effective May 31 - MAILERS+4 Is Ready!

USPS Rate Change Effective May 31Attention MAILERS+4 users! The Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) recently approved all of the United States Postal Service® (USPS) proposed price increases. The new prices go into effect on May 31, 2015.

What You Need to Do

A patch is available with the new postage rates and new postage statements on our wiki or for immediate download.

Click here to view a PDF chart of the major price changes. For a more detailed look, go to the Postal Explorer® website; on the left side of the page, look for the following link: "Mailing Services Prices excel - Final 05/26/15." Click on this link and the Excel® file will automatically download.

Remember: if you will be sending out a mailing before May 31, you need to use the current, existing rates. Mailings on May 31 or later must reflect the new rates and postage statements contained in the update.

Melissa Data at the National Postal Forum 2015

Melissa Data at National Postal Forum 2015The postal industry gathered in Anaheim, Calif. this month for the National Postal Forum. The May 17-20 event was a great success and two big themes emerged during the four-day event: the importance of international address validation, and of the need for more awareness surrounding data quality.

There was also great insight to be had on industry news, and EPICOMM, the Association for Leaders in Print, Mail, Fulfillment, and Marketing Services, provided excellent information on the recent ruling by the Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit regarding the US Postal Service's battle against the PRC over its attempt to regulate new Intelligent Mail® barcode (IMB®) rules. To read the Court's ruling, click here.

It was the first National Postal Forum for new Postmaster General Megan Brennan—the first woman Postmaster in the Postal Service's history—and on May 18, she introduced the new "Missing Child" stamp, which according to the USPS® website, was designed to "make members of the public more aware of the ways they can assist—and to offer hope to the families of missing children as they continue their search."

The Melissa Data team enjoyed meeting with everyone who stopped by the booth to learn more about our mailing products. Pictured (below) are Melissa Data's Scott Ranke (left), Product Specialist, and Ken Brashears, Mailing Software Manager.
