Use the Do-Not-Mail list to identify opt-out individuals
Avoid mailing to uninterested recipients by suppressing the records of
individuals who have registered with the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) to
opt-out from receiving advertising mail.
The DMA Do-Not-Mail list is updated monthly and distributed four times a year –
January, April, July and October. Names remain on file for five years. The match
percentage will vary on the accuracy and age of the data in your list.
Melissa Data recommends running NCOALink®/DSF2®, or some combination of address
verification before using Do-Not-Mail suppression on your list.
