Melissa Data Announces Delivery Point Validation for their Top-selling Address Object Software Offering

Data quality tool verifies addresses to the highest level of accuracy

Delivery Point Validation™ (DPV) will help mailers, publishers and other businesses save money on postage, reduce undeliverables, and store customer data with more confidence.

DPV is the newest add-on to Address Object, Melissa Data’s top selling Windows-based data validation tool. With the DPV component, Address Object will now confirm whether an address actually exists, right down to the apartment or suite number.

DPV goes beyond the standard CASS certification process by verifying if an address is actually served by the USPS. Before DPV, addresses could only be verified to a range of addresses on a given street and not a specific delivery location.

Address Object verifies addresses, in real-time or batch processes, by comparing the address submitted against the USPS’s database of 150 million deliverable addresses. Address Object is ideal for e-commerce or Web site applications. By ensuring that all new address entries are error free, Address Object gives users confidence in the long-term integrity of their databases.

Once an address is verified, corrected, and standardized to USPS specifications, a ZIP+4 code is appended to the record. Address Object then links the address to a time zone, congressional district, or county. Address Object also returns latitude and longitude coordinates, which can be used to calculate distances to a dealer, store or service location.
