Catalog
Covers Attracting attention is certainly the catalog cover's primary job. Many factors influence accomplishing this feat. The type of merchandise you carry needs to be identified in some way so the customer will pick up the catalog with anticipation of what is inside. But just presenting an interesting cover does not insure customer interest; there is too much competition from other catalogs, magazines, and direct mail packages. Orders are achieved by generating the desire to purchase, then motivating that desire. The main cover's job is to capture the attention of the buyer, and then motivate him or her inside.
